A few words...

My work is about observations about the world, about objects, about spaces and the psychology of people inhabiting them. My paintings are about objects but they are just as much about people as they are about objects. I’m looking to create immersive experience for the viewer using the traditional method of painting. Coming from the tradition of still life painting I’m interested in how I can expand the field of painting and examine what painting is and how it can operate as part of our 3D world.

I’m interested in the object and spaces that surround me on an everyday basis. I like to observe them and after a lot of time spent with them they start to turn into something else, they show a different hidden side. Spaces fold and unfold, flat things turn into 3D and 3D things collapse into flat abstract forms. I’m interested how these paintings I make can turn into objects themselves and how I can create an environment with paintings where the viewer is absorbed in the painting, having an experience with it. I’m interested in subtleties of things. I observe things but I also observe the behaviour and actions of people which a lot of times gives ground for starting a piece of work. I’m interested in how people work how we feel and see the world around us. Absurdities and simple but deep truths interest me.
